Good questions.

Does it change how copy and paste work?

No. ⌘C and ⌘V work exactly as they always have. Just Copy quietly keeps what you copy in the tray, so anything from earlier is one reach away.

Why use Just Copy instead of the built-in clipboard history?

Spotlight includes clipboard history on macOS Tahoe and later. Just Copy adds a visual tray you can reach from the top of your screen, search inside screenshots, folders, Paste Stack and optional AI access. You also control how long your history is kept.

Will it work on my Mac?

Just Copy requires an Apple silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS 14 or later. A notch is optional: on a display without one, reach for the top-center of the screen to open the same tray. Intel Macs aren’t supported.

Where is my clipboard history stored?

On your Mac, with no Just Copy account required. Optional iCloud sync uses your own Apple account. You can exclude apps from capture, and content that an app marks as secret is skipped by default. See our privacy policy for details on previews, sync and AI sharing.

Can I try it before buying?

There’s no free trial. Your purchase comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If Just Copy isn’t for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

What do I get for $29.99?

Every Mac feature, every 1.x update, and the iPhone app when it launches. You pay once and keep the version you buy, with no subscription. The launch price is $29.99 USD; the regular price after launch is $49.

How do I get the app after I buy?

Right after checkout, Polar, the store that handles your payment, emails you a download link and your license key. Both are in your Polar customer portal too, whenever you need them again.

Is the iPhone app available?

Coming soon. It has been submitted to Apple for approval and isn’t available on the App Store yet. It’s included with your Mac purchase when it launches, with no second purchase needed. Optional sync uses your own iCloud account.

How long does it keep my copies?

As long as you like. In Settings → Storage you can have it delete clips after a set time, and images sooner.

Can I paste without the mouse?

Yes. With the tray open, ⌘1 to ⌘9 paste your last nine copies. Without it, ⌃⌥1 to 9 do the same. There’s also a setting to always paste as plain text.

Can I pause it?

Yes. From the menu bar, pause it for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, or until you turn it back on.

Does it work with more than one display?

Yes. The tray follows your pointer from screen to screen, or stays on your main display or the built-in screen. Choose in Settings → General.

Why does it ask for Accessibility?

To paste a selected card back into the app you were using. Without this permission, you can still copy a card and paste it yourself with ⌘V. Paste Stack also needs Accessibility to paste your copies in order, and codes like #passport use it to notice when you type one.

What if I get a new Mac?

On the old Mac, open Settings → License and choose Deactivate this Mac, then paste the same key on the new one. If the old Mac is gone, email [email protected] and we’ll sort it out.
